Mail from Mickey and Minnie

We've received our second celebrity RSVP (see the first here)!  (They've sadly beat some of our actual guests and RSVP's were due 6 days ago).

Your Response is Requested

....by today!  RSVP's were due today and here's where we're at.  We are still missing 27% of our RSVP's (honestly, that's better than I expected).  Also, we have two people who took it upon themselves to write in a random guest on their RSVP - both friends of the fiance, so he has to make some phone calls.

I'm giving it another few days and this weekend I'll get in touch with those who still haven't RSVP'd.

Kohl's Chaos

I warned you recently about my issues with Kohl's wedding registry.  Since then, I have had more issues with them.  I was out at my bachelorette weekend and received an email saying that the Ninja XL Blender was purchased.  AWESOME!

After the weekend trip I checked the registry.  I was surprised to see that it showed the blender as unpurchased.  I decided that the e-mail was incorrect and the blender actually hadn't been purchased. Three days later....the blender arrived in the mail.

I went back to the registry to check it again.  The blender still showed as unpurchased.  I tried to update it myself to say that it had been purchased, but was unsuccessful.  Finally, I decided to just delete it from the registry.

The main reason that I went with Kohl's for our registry was their 10% cashback perk.  From the time you register to the date of your wedding, you earn 10% cashback (which they give you in the form of a gift card) for each purchase made off your registry.  I was worried that because I deleted the blender, I wasn't going to receive the 10% back for it, so I planned to call within the next few days.

Then, we had a surprise in our mail yesterday - a second blender, purchased by a different guest.  So this morning I called Kohl's.  I explained the entire situation to them and was surprised by their responses.  I was told that I wouldn't receive the 10% back on either blender because I deleted it from my registry.  I explained again that I deleted it to avoid receiving multiple blenders.

Finally, after being transferred multiple times, I was told that they would add it back to my registry and show that 2 were purchased and I assured me that I would receive the cash back for both. I'm hoping that this is true, but who knows.  I only have one more item on my Kohl's registry and I'm just hoping that someone buys it soon, just so I don't have to deal with them any more.

Bachelorette Blast

Yesterday I got back from my bachelorette weekend.  It was SO much fun - my ladies are the best!  We went up to the Finger Lakes for some wine tasting fun.  The girls arranged for someone to drive us around, so no one had to worry about drinking too much.

We ended the weekend hanging around at the hotel and having some more to drink.  I'm going to hold off on posting evidence pictures of our weekend shenanigans, since I don't know if my ladies want their pictures all over my blog.  I do have one to share though:  my souvenir to remember the trip:

If any of my bridesmaids are reading this, thanks for the awesome weekend!  You guys are the best.  <3

RSVP Update

Exactly one week until RSVP's are due and we haven't even received half of our RSVP's back yet - it looks like I'll have to be making some phone calls pretty soon.   Here is a breakdown of the responses so far.

RSVP LOL

With RSVP's coming in I felt that sharing this was extremely appropriate.  I've been receiving RSVP's over the past week and have already had to make multiple phone calls to decipher the cards and have had guests calling me with questions on food options and their guests.

Our rehearsal dinner plans are finally all set and I came up with some invitations.  And by came up with, I mean I borrowed an idea from Pinterest.  Below is what we ended up with.  We printed the following on some creme colored paper and might matte it on dark purple card-stock and then in the mail they'll go!

-Grandparents
-Wedding party & their dates
-Photographer (amily friend who's doing the photos for free & will take pictures at the rehearsal too)

Take Caution with Kohls

Forever ago when I first started reviewing various store registries, I ended with Kohl's as one of my top picks.  So we went with it and registered at Kohls.  Unfortunately, we've experience a lot of difficulty with our registry their.  One by one items on our registry are becoming "no longer available" and then disappearing off the registry.  And they don't e-mail to keep you updated on these items either.  You will only notice the items missing if you go on to their site to manage the registry.  Yesterday I created a registry on Amazon.com and went through to find many of our 'missing' items on there.

Moral of the story:  while Kohl's wedding registry has great perks, their inventory changes so frequently, that you need to constantly update your items and/or find some items elsewhere.

Tablescaping

I have two pieces of stationary that I plan to have on the table:
My i Spy cards:

and my menus:

My concern was overcrowding the table.  I wanted to put two of each card on the table, but that would mean 4 different cards on the table.

Then, I was given a brilliant suggestion (which I don't know why I didn't think of myself) put the two cards back to back in one holder (since they're the exact same size).  Instead of having 4 single-sides pieces on the table, I will only need 2 double-sided.

Right away I went to search for holder for my stationary.  I found a great deal on these menu clips on amazon.  I ended up paying $11.89 for 36 holders (after a $5 Swagbucks giftcard).  They're perfect, simple, and have a cast iron base so we don't have to worry about them falling over!
