So we officially closed on our house last Wednesday. Since then we have been extremely busy. We went up to the lake for fireworks and a cookout for an early 4th of July celebration the same day we closed. Then we spent ALL day Thursday and Friday getting the house ready to move in. Then Saturday with the moving truck and a help from MANY, MANY friends and family members, we got everything moved in by Sunday.
Well everything except for the furniture that is. After being in storage for 3 months all of our furniture had mold on it (from the crazy weather we've been having). We found out the hard way that insurance does not cover mold and storage units aren't liable for any damage done to your property while it is there.
Fortunately, someone recommended an awesome cleaner specifically for mold - Concrobium. All that I have to say is that if you ever have any mold you HAVE to buy this. All of our furniture looks as good a new. And you can use the spray on anything. We did it on our wooden furniture and the couch. Now that that's fixed and we have furniture we can really get settled in and get back to wedding planning. Updates will be coming soon!

Closing on the Calendar
Since we moved back to New York (from Michigan) back in March, we've been living with my fiance's parents while we look for a house. Well after only just 3 months, we found our house, put an offer in and had it inspected. Everything is all set and our closing is scheduled for this coming Wednesday, July 3rd. That means we'll be busy packing boxes, loading up vans and getting settled into our very own home. That means I'll slow down on posts for a while, but don't worry I'll be back in time to tell you about all of the finishing touches before the wedding!Thursday, June 27, 2013
The Moment of Truth
Until today, I had not posted since April 8 (over 2 months ago). I admit, it's pretty bad. However, I have been job hunting, we have been wedding planning, and we have been house hunting. In fact, we are closing on our very first home next Wednesday, 3! (More to come on that later).
Anyway, I was chatting with my MOH last night and she mentioned my blogging and I realized that I hadn't in forever and that I'd missed out on so much. So my goal between today and tomorrow is to back-track and back-date and share everything that has happened. What that means for you? If you want to keep up on my adventures start reading everything after my April 8th post. I have added many on this morning and plan to add many more later.
After today my goal will be to keep current. We'll see how it goes between moving, teaching summer schol, job hunting, and wedding planning.

Home Sweet Home
Things have been crazy this past week , but we finally we made it back to New York! We officially got in Saturday night (technically 3AM Sunday morning). Sunday was spent unpacking the truck and putting things into storage (where it will stay until we find a house). Monday was spent moving and upacking boxes at my fiance's parents house (where we are staying until we find a house). Tuesday my mom and grandmother got in to the area to visit (they'll be staying until Sunday). We had originally planned the visit before we knew we were moving and were going to meet up in the New York area for wedding planning. They were both looking forward to it, so I decided that even though it would be hectic I didn't want to cancel. Then, today (Wednesday) I went to my dentist appointment and my fiance packed up and left for his bachelor ski trip to Vermont. I FINALLY had some downtime and decided to add this quick update. Somehow in the midst of the craziness, we did manage to accomplish some wedding related tasks which I'll post about tomorrow. I felt like tonight was the first time I actually was able to sit on the couch and relax since we found out we were moving (which was just over 2 weeks ago). It never thought it could feel so wonderful to just sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing.

Homeward Bound
So just yesterday my fiance got the best news ever - he can transfer back to Upstate New York for work! Even better news: we're leaving in just 12 days. The bad news: we're leaving in just 12 days. That means we have 12 days to pack and figure out if we'll be hiring people to help us move, etc. A lot to do in just 12 days.
Other good news - we'll actually be living in Upstate New York only a few minutes from where we are getting married (much better than living in Michigan about 12 hours away from it). I can't even believe this is happen, I haven't stopped smiling since I got the news!
With that, I am going to hop off to start packing. I will be EXTREMELY busy over the next too weeks, so I don't know how frequently I'll be posting. Also with all of the work we'll be putting into packing/moving/finding a house, that means wedding planning we temporarily be on hold.
