Since we moved back to New York (from Michigan) back in March, we've been living with my fiance's parents while we look for a house. Well after only just 3 months, we found our house, put an offer in and had it inspected. Everything is all set and our closing is scheduled for this coming Wednesday, July 3rd. That means we'll be busy packing boxes, loading up vans and getting settled into our very own home. That means I'll slow down on posts for a while, but don't worry I'll be back in time to tell you about all of the finishing touches before the wedding!

Home Sweet Home
Things have been crazy this past week , but we finally we made it back to New York! We officially got in Saturday night (technically 3AM Sunday morning). Sunday was spent unpacking the truck and putting things into storage (where it will stay until we find a house). Monday was spent moving and upacking boxes at my fiance's parents house (where we are staying until we find a house). Tuesday my mom and grandmother got in to the area to visit (they'll be staying until Sunday). We had originally planned the visit before we knew we were moving and were going to meet up in the New York area for wedding planning. They were both looking forward to it, so I decided that even though it would be hectic I didn't want to cancel. Then, today (Wednesday) I went to my dentist appointment and my fiance packed up and left for his bachelor ski trip to Vermont. I FINALLY had some downtime and decided to add this quick update. Somehow in the midst of the craziness, we did manage to accomplish some wedding related tasks which I'll post about tomorrow. I felt like tonight was the first time I actually was able to sit on the couch and relax since we found out we were moving (which was just over 2 weeks ago). It never thought it could feel so wonderful to just sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing.

Homeward Bound
So just yesterday my fiance got the best news ever - he can transfer back to Upstate New York for work! Even better news: we're leaving in just 12 days. The bad news: we're leaving in just 12 days. That means we have 12 days to pack and figure out if we'll be hiring people to help us move, etc. A lot to do in just 12 days.
Other good news - we'll actually be living in Upstate New York only a few minutes from where we are getting married (much better than living in Michigan about 12 hours away from it). I can't even believe this is happen, I haven't stopped smiling since I got the news!
With that, I am going to hop off to start packing. I will be EXTREMELY busy over the next too weeks, so I don't know how frequently I'll be posting. Also with all of the work we'll be putting into packing/moving/finding a house, that means wedding planning we temporarily be on hold.

New York: Engagement Photos
Also, while we are in New York, my dad has offered to shoot our engagement pictures for us (photography is a hobby of his). I'm very excited and have a tentative list of locations:

I need to keep this in mind and get some ideas: What to wear for engagement pictures!
Though he's agreed to go along with it, my fiancé doesn't really get the purpose of engagement photos. I am planning on using them for Save the Dates, Invitations, and possibly in the guest book. If you're having some done, what are you using yours for?

- Sage (where I went to college at)/downtown Troy - they have some gorgeous brownstones
- The Playground - where Dave and I spent time together before we started dating
- Prospect Park - a nice little park that we went to frequently

Reception Venues
We decided that we are going to get married in upstate New York. It is where my fiance it from, it is where we met, it is where we both went to college, and it is only a few hours from my family. After looking for a week at possibly venues, we have our list down to six places:
If anyone has any reviews of any of them please feel free to comment.
